“The Government and the people of Pakistan convey their deepest condolences on the Shahadat of 12-year-old-boy Junaid Ahmad in Kashmir, to the bereaved family,” said Pakistan Foreign Office (FO) in a statement on Sunday.
Junaid, a class seventh student was hit by pellets in his chest and head on last Friday afternoon during clashes in Saidapora area of summer capital. He was rushed to SKIMS Soura where he succumbed to his injuries during the intervening night of Oct 07 & 08 around 2AM.
“The cold-blooded murder of Junaid Ahmad is worst example of state terrorism of the Indian government and is indeed deplorable,” Pakistan said.
The killing of little Junaid evoked condemnation from all quarters and curfew was imposed in the summer capital which continues on Sunday as well in several parts.
“The people of Kashmir are demanding their fundamental human rights, especially the Right to Self Determination, in accordance with UN Security Council Resolutions,” the FO statement added.
“The grave situation of human rights violations in Kashmir, growing atrocities and genocide of Kashmiris should be a matter of concern to the international community and the UN and warrants an immediate intervention to stop the bloodshed by India,” the FO added.
“In three months continued bloodshed by forces more than 115 innocent and defenceless Kashmiris have been martyred, over 15,000 are injured with scores in critical condition and several hundreds blinded due to use of pellet guns, including children and women. A humanitarian crisis, created by the Indian occupation forces through shortage of food, medicines, water and other basic amenities, has added to the Kashmiris’ plight and the casualties,” the statement added urging the international community to play its role for ending the bloodshed in Kashmir.
“The culture of impunity for the occupation forces in Kashmir must come to an end. There should be fair, independent and transparent inquiry into the grave human rights violations of the Innocent Kashmiri people,” the FO statement said.
