Dispose Sacrificial Waste Properly on Eid or Face Action: JK Wakf Board

In a public message, Dr Andrabi urged people not to throw sacrificial remains on roads or in public dustbins, warning that such actions defile public spaces and attract stray dogs, leading to unhygienic conditions.

“I request everyone to dig a pit and bury the sacrificial waste at the same spot. It is not Islamic to leave animal remains in the open where dogs feed on them and public areas become polluted,” Dr Andrabi said.

She expressed hope that the public, particularly the younger generation, would set an example by ensuring proper disposal in line with religious and environmental awareness.

“This is both a matter of faith and civic responsibility. We expect a positive response, especially from our youth, who are aware of Islamic guidance on hygiene and public welfare,” she added.

Dr Andrabi warned that those found littering roads with sacrificial waste will face fines. She said the Wakf Board, in coordination with local authorities, will monitor the situation to ensure the sanctity and cleanliness of public spaces during the festival.

Eid-ul-Azha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, is expected to be observed on June 7. (KNT)
