SRINAGAR: Renewing hope for the families of the three boys killed in an alleged fake encounter in Shopian, the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has assured the victims’ families that the probe is going on and the families will get justice.

“Separate investigations are going on in army and administration regarding the case. I assure, justice will be done,” LG Sinha told media in his second news press conference on Monday. He was responding to the questions by the media.

A few days back, in a letter addressed to the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, the families of three Rajouri boys killed in an alleged fake encounter in Shopian on July 18, had sought the personal the intervention of governor demanding an impartial and fair inquiry into the killings and results of the DNA report to establish the truth besides permission for exhumation so that decent burial of their family members can be arranged.

The families had lost contact with their wards after they came to Shopian for earning their livelihood. It was many days later when the photographs of the slain trio surfaced on the social media that they claimed they have identified them as their wards. That was August 10. Later, the police decided to go for DNA sampling the results of which are yet to be out.
