Srinagar: Two militants, Policeman and a civilian were killed in a gunfight in Fateh Kadal area of Srinagar on Wednesday. Though the number of persons injured in the clashes.

The slain LeT militants were identified as Mehraj ud Din Bangroo of Fateh Kadal and Faid Mushtaq Waza a resident of Khanyar.

The slain civilian was a son of the house owner in which encounter took place and has been identified as Rayees Ahmad Sofi son of Habibullah Sofi of Fateh Kadal

Women wailing from the window of a house over the killing of two militants and a civilian in the downtown area of Srinagar on Wednesday late evening.

Almost 20 journalists including photographers, videographers and the TV reporters were beaten. Some of them have received serious injuries and they are currently in the hospital.

Soon after the killing of militants and civilian clashes erupted between youth and government forces in many parts of Srinagar.

Meanwhile, thousands of people participated in the funeral prayers of slain militants Mehrajuddin Bangroo, his associate Faiz Mushtaq Waza and civilian Rayees Sofi in Eidgah.
