The father of slain engineering youth (Gowhar Nazir Dar) Friday said that he will not pursue case against the forces if the paramilitary forces camp is removed from the area.
Gowhar Nazir Dar, a Computer Science Engineering student at SSM College of engineering and Technology was killed allegedly by CRPF in Zainakote area in outskirts of Srinagar city on November 07 early this month.
“Let the government order removal of the camp from the factory,” Nazir Ahmad Dar, Gowhar’s father told New Delhi based The Citizen, “I will not pursue the case against the culprits. This way, at least Gowhar’s martyrdom will bear some fruit and no innocent will become target of these murderers.”
Gowhar’s death had sparked widespread protests across Kashmir. The day coincided with PM Narendra Modi’s visit to Kashmir when he announced an economic package of Rs 80000 Crore for J&K.
PDP central Kashmir MP, Tariq Hamid Karra and independent lawmaker, Er Rashid, have already demanded immediate removal of the camp.
Gowhar’s family and locals of Zainakote are blaming the personnel from 44 Battalion CRPF, housed in Hindustan Machine Tools (HMT) factory stationed in the area, for the killing. However, state government ordered probe is going-on in the youth’s killing.
Another PDP lawmaker representing the area in state legislature, Sheikh Noor Muhammad, has shot letter to state home department seeking immediate removal of the CRP camp.
“I have already shot a letter to the home department on the demand on locals who want the CRPF battalion, which shifted to the factory after last year’s flood, to be removed from the factory,” PDP MLA from Srinagar’s Batamaloo, Sheikh Noor Muhammad, said.
