The former Bhartiya Janta party president and union home minister Rajnath Singh is arriving here tomorrow and is scheduled to address election rallies in Karnah and Uri areas of north Kashmir. He is also holding a crucial meeting with the state BJP leaders.

BJP’s Media and Publicity in charge Kashmir, Altaf Thakur told KNS that Singh is arriving here Friday afternoon. “He is scheduled to address two public rallies one in Karnah at 12 pm and 2nd in Uri at 2pm,” he said.

Meanwhile, sources said that to raise the morale of its candidates in Kashmir valley  BJP chief Amit Shah and a host of other top leaders, including, Nitin Gadkari, Sushma Sawraj, Najmahaftullah are also expected to address the election rallies in Kashmir in coming days.

Well informed sources within the BJP told KNS that Rajnath Singh besides addressing the public rallies will also hold an important meeting with the BJP state leaders to discuss the preparations and plans of the BJP for the elections in the state.

National General secretary of BJP Ram Madaw told KNS that the arrivals of top party leaders is giving boost to BJP workers in Kashmir and to “our goal of achieving ‘Mission 44+’ in Jammu and Kashmir.”

The BJP is running its “Mission 44” in Jammu and Kashmir to form next government. The party has already said that “formation of BJP government in J&K is their dream.”

In 2008 elections, the BJP had won 11 of the 37 seats in the Jammu region, and none of the 46 seats in the Kashmir Valley or the four in Ladakh.
