SRINAGAR: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday said that India will no longer be a victim of terrorism, asserting that ‘Operation Sindoor’ has sent a powerful message to terrorists and their supporters that the country will respond with strength and strategy.
Addressing soldiers at the Northern Command headquarters in Udhampur, Singh said the operation marked a shift in India’s approach to terrorism. “Operation Sindoor delivered a clear message that New India will not be passive in the face of terrorism but will respond decisively,” he said.
He praised the coordination between the armed forces and intelligence agencies in targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. “India’s new policy against terrorism is built on unmatched courage and dedication,” he said.
Singh said that Operation Sindoor was not merely a military strike but a warning to those across the border who support terrorism. “Operation Sindoor is not over yet—this is just a pause. I want to say this to our neighbouring country,” he added.
Describing the life of a soldier as one of courage and sacrifice, the Defence Minister said the nation remains indebted to the armed forces for their service. He urged troops to prioritise physical and mental well-being, speaking at a ‘Barakhana’ event held ahead of the International Day of Yoga.
“If you are strong, our borders will be strong. When the borders are strong, India will be strong,” he said.
Chief of the Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi, Northern Army Commander Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, and other senior officers were also present during the visit. (KNO)
