SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday attended the Idol Installation Ceremony of Swami Satyamitranand Giri Ji Maharaj at Haridwar in Uttarakhand. The event, marking the Spiritual, Cultural, and Sadguru Memorial Celebration, was held under the guidance of Swami Avdheshanand Giri Ji Maharaj, Acharya Mahamandaleshwar of Juna Akhara.
In his address, the Lieutenant Governor spoke on India’s economic, cultural, and spiritual resurgence, describing it as inspiring a vibrant new consciousness in society. He emphasised that the values of India’s ancestors, particularly the philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam—“the world is one family”—are now being embraced globally as a framework for peace and harmony.
“With the blessings of revered saints, people are advancing steadfastly toward the vision of building a modern, transformed India,” Sinha said, highlighting that India’s ancient culture has historically promoted unity, individual well-being, and the welfare of all humanity. He noted that India’s soft power, including Yoga and meditation, is recognised and practiced worldwide.
The Lieutenant Governor also pointed to the Union Budget’s focus on developing archaeological sites, preserving monasteries and temples, promoting Buddhist circuit corridors, and digitally archiving spiritual landmarks. He said these initiatives would foster cultural pride among the youth and strengthen India’s position on the global stage.
Sinha expressed confidence that India, through unity and its spiritual heritage, would achieve developed nation status by 2047, reclaiming its ancient glory and leadership in the world.
The ceremony was attended by Bihar Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, saints, spiritual leaders, heads of religious organisations, and followers of Swami Satyamitranand Giri Ji Maharaj.
