SRINAGAR: Kashmiri Pandits around the world are celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi, also known as Vinayak Tchoram, with devotion and enthusiasm. This year’s festivities commenced on Saturday marked by grand religious ceremonies at the Siddhivinayak Ganpatyar Mandir in Srinagar and Vessu KP Colony in Anantnag, South Kashmir.
Siddhivinayak Ganpatyar Mandir and the Vessu Welfare Committee organised a Hawan (sacred fire ritual) and Prasad distribution to observe this auspicious occasion.
The festival began with a Hawan at the Siddhivinayak Ganpatyar Mandir and will be followed by a similar ritual at Vessu KP Colony on September 11. Alongside the religious events, five days of cultural and Bhajan evenings have been planned at Vessu KP Colony to foster community spirit and devotion.
The festival will culminate in a procession for the immersion of the Ganesha idols, to be carried from the Ganpatyar Mandir in Srinagar and Vessu KP Colony to the banks of the Jhelum River on September 11, a major highlight of the celebrations.
The Siddhivinayak Ganpatyar Mandir Management Committee and the Vessu Welfare Committee have extended heartfelt thanks to Shri Punit Balan and the Shri Bausaheb Rangari Trust for their generous contribution of eco-friendly idols. Their support has been key to ensuring a spiritually meaningful and environmentally conscious celebration.
The organising committees invite everyone to join the sacred festivities and celebrate Vinayak Tchoram with devotion and unity.
