The celebration was attended by Safeer Shah, Regional Director Kashmir (DCF), Jammu and Kashmir Pollution Control Committee, Bilal Ahmad Khan, Divisional Officer Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir Pollution Control Committee, and other stakeholders.

The event marked the third consecutive year of Lavender Day celebrations at the site, highlighting Khyber Cement’s continued commitment to environmental stewardship, sustainable development and community engagement.

Set against the backdrop of the company’s Lavender Park, the occasion showcased a model where industrial development and environmental responsibility coexist. The park has emerged as a distinctive symbol of how industry can contribute positively to the landscape and ecological character of Jammu and Kashmir while pursuing economic growth.

Addressing the gathering, Safeer Shah commended Khyber Cement for developing and maintaining the Lavender Park and appreciated the company’s efforts to promote environmental awareness alongside industrial expansion. He also congratulated the company on being recognised as the Best Cement Brand of Jammu and Kashmir, stating that the recognition reflects its commitment to quality, leadership and responsible development.

Speaking on the occasion, Riaz Tramboo, Director Operations, Khyber Cement, said the significance of Lavender Day extends beyond a ceremonial event.

“For three consecutive years, this celebration has brought people together at a place where industry, nature and community converge. It reflects our belief that progress is most meaningful when it creates value for the region, respects its character and contributes to a future that benefits everyone,” he said.

Officials said the continued observance of Lavender Day reflects Khyber Cement’s broader vision of creating value beyond its core business operations. Through various initiatives, the company has sought to demonstrate how industry can act as a catalyst for positive change while remaining aligned with the needs and aspirations of the region.

As Lavender Day enters its third year, the company said it remains committed to fostering a model of development where economic progress, community well-being and ecological stewardship grow together, creating lasting benefits for Jammu and Kashmir.
