During his visit to the affected region, LG Sinha met grieving families and assured comprehensive rehabilitation measures. He confirmed that ex-gratia and other reliefs have already been extended and that the Government of India remains committed to providing further assistance.

“Proper rehabilitation of the affected families is my top priority. We are also significantly expanding construction of individual and community bunkers under the Security Related Expenditure (SRE) scheme across Jammu and Kashmir,” LG Sinha stated during the visit.

The Lieutenant Governor condemned Pakistan for targeting religious sites including Gurudwara Dera Santpura Nangali Sahib, a temple, and a mosque. “By attacking sacred places, Pakistan attempted to damage our social fabric,” he said.

Sinha also praised the resilience and unity of the people of Poonch, particularly the Sikh community, for standing together against attempts to incite religious division. “Their courage gave moral strength to our armed forces,” he added.

Reiterating the resolve of the administration and security forces, LG Sinha said exemplary action would be taken against all acts of terrorism and sectarian provocation.

He also visited the Dungus area to assess the damage and chaired a high-level review meeting with district and administrative officials. He instructed authorities to restore essential services urgently, submit an Action Taken Report to the Divisional Commissioner and Chief Secretary, and expedite the construction of bunkers and upgrade medical infrastructure in the region.

The LG was accompanied by Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, IG Jammu Bhim Sen Tuti, Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Poonch Vikas Kundal, and other senior officials.
