The Jammu and Kashmir Private Schools United Front Tuesday termed the successful class 10th results as tribute to thousands of students and teachers who suffered tremendously and lost everything, “but never let the hope of education diminish”.
Congratulating the “brilliant performance” displayed by private schools, a statement from PSUF said, “the front has termed the success as a tribute to hardworking students and staff members who despite being affected by floods worked hard.”
“Last years academic session was worst for Kashmir due to floods and government was unable to help the education sector in the aftermath,” said G N Var president PSUF.
“But still our students and staff members fought the adverse conditions and almost all top positions are bagged by private schools,” the statement said. The front congratulated the students and schools for achieving the “hard fought success”.
The front said that it is high time government “recognizes the contribution of private schools” towards the education sector.
“The government should check the results and see the difference between government and private schools,” said Var. “They have been promising that the change has arrived, now it is high time that they show the results of that change.”
The front expressed its concern regarding continuous “dismal performance of government schools” and asked the ministry concerned to take action against such schools.
“This year too government schools sit at the bottom of results. Despite millions being spent on them, it is these government schools that bring down overall pass percentage,” said Var. “The million dollar question remains, will the government take action against such schools and teachers or not,” the statement concluded.
