The meeting that held between the state government and traders here on Monday failed with the later adamant to hold protests and strike on Tuesday.

Sources told KNS that the meeting which lasted for more than one hour between the traders and finance minister Haseeb Drabu, ended at a sour note with traders refusing to call off issued for May 5.

Sources said the government asked for more time from traders so that their pending cases of relief could be settled but traders, while refusing to accord more time to the government declared to hold sit in at Budshah Chowk at 9 in the morning on Tuesday.

“The government tried much to stop the strike call and asked for more time but we refused to follow the diktats. We will welcome the government at Budshah Chowk tomorrow,” one of the traders who was the part of the meet told KNS.

Meanwhile, President Economic Alliance Kashmir Mohammad Yasin Khan told KNS that the roads are going to wear a deserted look on Tuesday as the entire Kashmir will be the part of the strike call. “Transport will be off the roads, we have appealed them to halt normal work for a day. It will be a successful a call as traders have been denied what they deserve. The government did provide the relief but to the workers of the political parties.”

Meanwhile Private Schools United Front and all other private school association have decided not to support for Hartal call given by traders and manufactures association. “Since schools already faced problems and more than 8 months have already been wasted,” Private Schools association chief Ghulam Nabi Var told KNS .
