SRINAGAR: Several parts of Jammu and Kashmir experienced mild relief from the ongoing heatwave on Friday, with a slight dip in maximum temperatures across the region.
According to data compiled by Kashmir Weather Watch, Srinagar recorded a maximum temperature of 30.3°C, while Qazigund and Kukernag saw highs of 29.3°C and 28.8°C respectively. Kupwara registered 28.3°C, whereas the popular tourist destinations of Gulmarg and Pahalgam remained comparatively cooler at 20.5°C and 25.8°C.
In the Jammu division, however, the heat persisted with Jammu city recording the highest at 41.0°C. Katra followed with 38.4°C, Banihal at 32.0°C, Batote at 30.6°C, and Bhaderwah at 31.6°C.
In the Union Territory of Ladakh, Leh recorded a maximum of 26.0°C.
The slight drop in temperatures has brought some respite to residents, though weather experts advise caution as heat conditions may persist in several areas.
