SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Power Development Department (JKPDD) has stated that there is no continuous increasing or decreasing trend in actual peak demand and peak demand met.
According to official documents, the PDD noted, “It is observed that there is no continuous increasing or decreasing trend observed in the actual peak demand and peak demand met.”
In the financial years 2018-19, 2019-20, and 2020-21, there was a deficit of 20 per cent (actuals), as disclosed by the department. However, over the past two years, including FY 2021-22 and 2022-23, the department reported no deficit (actuals).
“Further, it is observed that there was around a 20 per cent deficit for the first three years (actuals) & zero per cent deficit for the two years (actuals),” the statement reads.
It is pertinent to note that actual energy refers to the total number of kWh generated by the system in a given guarantee year, as measured by the monitoring hardware and communicated to us by the Customer per the agreement.
The official documents also reveal that the present installed generation capacity in the Union Territory of J&K and Union Territory of Ladakh is 1360.98 MW, comprising 1230 MW of hydropower-based generation capacity and 130.98 MW of renewable energy-based generation (small hydro and solar). (KNO)
