SRINAGAR: The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir has said that the ongoing “Nasha Mukt Abhiyan” has recorded strong public participation across the Valley over the past 25 days, indicating widespread community backing for the fight against drug abuse.

In a post on X, the Divisional Commissioner stated that 58,533 awareness programmes have been conducted so far under the campaign, drawing participation from more than 51 lakh people across Kashmir.
It was further stated that 1,752 youth clubs have been activated as part of the initiative, while 928 anti-drug sermons were delivered in mosques and other religious institutions to raise awareness about the harmful effects of narcotics.
The Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan is a focused initiative of the Union Territory administration to eliminate drug abuse and build a drug-free society, with active involvement of youth, educational institutions and community leaders. It forms part of the broader national mission launched on August 15, 2020, and follows a zero-tolerance approach towards drug peddling alongside rehabilitation and counselling for affected individuals.
