While addressing a presser at Church Lane in Srinagar, Lone welcomed the senior leader and former MLA Zadibal Abid Ansari who formally joined Peoples Conference (PC) today. Earlier, Aabid Ansari’s nephew Imran Raza Ansari had joined PC, and both were associated with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Aabid Ansari, while addressing the media said that he never wished to be the minister as he had been asking his party PDP, to fulfil all the promises they made to his constituency Zadibal from the day first, “but unfortunately, there were no initiatives taken by them till now.”

While talking about the current situation, and reacting to recent civilian killings in south Kashmir’s Pulwama, Lone said that whenever there is an anti-militancy operation, security forces should keep in the eye in its outcomes, as most of the times an encounter ends up with the civilian causalities.

While seeking early elections in the valley, Lone said that the candidates for PC will be chosen from each and every constituency of the assembly as more people are joining their hands with the party, “no matter whether they are new or joining from other parties,” he said.

“We want the people of Jammu and Kashmir should get their elected representatives for their respective constitutes, so that all the grievances of the people should be fulfilled by our party,” Lone said.

Commenting on Ansari’s joining PC, Lone said that Ansari left PDP as there was corruption which forced him to leave the party.
