SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (JKPDP) has criticised the National Conference (NC)-led government for ‘restricting the ongoing Assembly session to just five working days’, terming it a deliberate move to avoid ‘public scrutiny and debate’.
In a statement posted on X, the party said, “While the @JKNC_ led government came to power with the promise of giving voice to the people of JK, the deliberate restriction of Assembly session to just 5 working days is an irony in itself.”

The PDP alleged that by keeping the session intentionally short, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s government has ensured that no meaningful discussions or accountability take place on the floor of the House.
“By keeping the session intentionally short, @OmarAbdullah govt has ensured that no debate takes place, allowing it to walk away without being held accountable on the floor of the House — and that too as it completes one year in office,” the party added.
The Jammu Kashmir Legislative Assembly will hold its autumn session in Srinagar from October 23 to 31, 2025.
