SRINAGAR: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday said the people on the other side of LoC are part of India’s family and expressed confidence they would one day return to the country’s mainstream voluntarily.
Speaking at the CII Business Summit, Singh said any future talks with Pakistan would be limited to issues related to terrorism.
He added that most people on other side of LoC feel connected to India, with only a few having been misled. “India believes in connecting hearts. Through love, unity, and truth, the day is not far when PoK will say, ‘I am India. I have returned’,” he said.
The minister also highlighted India’s growing defence capabilities, and said that defence exports have risen from under Rs 1,000 crore a decade ago to Rs 23,500 crore now, PTI reported.
“Make-in-India in defence is vital for India’s security and growth,” he said, noting that indigenous platforms performed effectively during Operation Sindoor. He added that India is not only producing fighter jets and missile systems but is also advancing in new-age warfare technology.
