Prominent Kashmir Entrepreneur Passes Away, Industrial and Community Leaders Mourn His Loss

   

SRINAGAR: The sudden demise of Manzoor Ahmad Baba, a prominent entrepreneur and owner of M/s Baba Industries in the Industrial Estate Khunmoh, has left the industrial community in Kashmir in deep sorrow. Baba, who passed away on Friday following a cardiac arrest, was widely respected for his contributions to the industrial sector and his inspiring leadership.

Baba experienced chest pain on the day of his passing but managed to drive himself to a nearby diagnostic lab for an ECG. Tragically, he breathed his last at the facility, leaving the community in shock.

The Federation of Chambers of Industries Kashmir (FCIK) expressed profound grief over the loss. FCIK President Shahid Kamili stated that Baba’s passing has created an irreplaceable void in both his family and the entrepreneurial community. Kamili praised Baba’s dedication, discipline, and leadership, adding that his untimely death serves as a stark reminder of life’s fragility and the importance of prioritising health amidst professional commitments.

The FCIK Advisory Committee members, including MD Qureshi, Shakeel Qalander, Zahoor Ahmad Bhat, and Mohammad Ashraf Mir, also expressed their sorrow, paying rich tributes to Baba’s contributions to the industry. They highlighted his hard work and the positive impact he had on the entrepreneurial community, acknowledging that his legacy would endure.

The Industrialists Association Khunmoh (IAK) joined in mourning Baba’s loss. IAK President Imran Murtaza described him as a mentor and companion to many, inspiring young entrepreneurs with his vision and unwavering commitment. Murtaza emphasised that Baba’s efforts significantly contributed to the growth and development of the Industrial Estate Khunmoh, setting a benchmark for others to follow.

A large number of industrial leaders and members of the community participated in Baba’s last rites at Nalabal, Nowshera. Notable attendees included Shakeel Qalander, Syed Fazal Illahi, Dr Zainulabideen, Haamid Chashoo, Fayaz Shawl, and Qaisar Makhdoomi, among others.

Both FCIK and IAK have extended their condolences to Baba’s family, including his wife, children, and relatives, particularly his uncles Fayaz Ahmad Kaloo, Ghulam Hassan Kaloo, and Dr Farooq Ahmad Kaloo. They assured the family of unwavering support from the industrial community and prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul.

Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir, Dr Moulvi Mohammad Umar Farooq, also expressed deep sorrow over Baba’s demise. The deceased was the son of the late Assadullah Baba and a nephew of Fayaz Ahmad Kaloo, Editor-in-Chief of the daily Greater Kashmir. Mirwaiz conveyed his condolences to the Baba family and prayed for Jannat-ul-Firdous for the departed soul.

The Private Schools Association of Jammu and Kashmir (PSAJK) has expressed profound grief over the sudden demise of Manzoor Ahmad Baba, nephew of Fayaz Ahmad Kaloo, Editor-in-Chief of Greater Kashmir. A resident of Nallabal Nowshera in Srinagar, Manzoor Ahmad Baba passed away on Friday due to a cardiac arrest, leaving behind his mother, wife, and two daughters. His untimely death has deeply saddened the community, with hundreds gathering for his Nimaz-e-Jinaza to pay their respects.

In his condolence message, PSAJK President Dr GN Var described the loss as a tragedy that transcends the family, affecting the entire community. Highlighting the contributions of Fayaz Ahmad Kaloo in the field of journalism as a beacon of integrity, PSAJK reaffirmed its support for him and his family in their time of grief. Other PSAJK leaders echoed these sentiments, emphasising their commitment to stand by the bereaved family. They prayed for the departed soul’s eternal peace and strength for the family to endure this irreplaceable loss.
