A week after, Kashmiris campaigned to raise Rs 25 lacs for a 25-year-old Srinagar girl who was diagnosed with Relapse Acute Myeloid Leukemia (A type of Blood Cancer), and was undergoing treatment at Rajiv Gandhi cancer institute New Delhi under CR Number 198787, is no more.
She left for heavenly abode early today.
Sana was first diagnosed in April 2015. Since then her family had spent a considerable amount on her treatment.
Sana was undergoing blood transfusion on alternate days costing her Rs 25,000 per dose. Sana, an orphan, is survived by her old-age mother and a young sister. Doctors have prescribed her to undergo systematic cycles of Chemotherapy followed by Allogenic Stem Cell Transplant.
Recently, in an appeal, her family had requested people for help.
After receiving help from left, right and centre the family had requested people to stop sending further donations, as she had got the required amount.
The week-long campaign was started by ‘conscious’ citizens on social networks, and within a week an amount of Rs 25 lakhs was deposited in her account. “This campaign was started by concerned Kashmiris, and it is because of their efforts that we could get such a huge response,” said a person, wishing anonymity, who campaigned for Sana through his facebook account.
