SRINAGAR: Police have seized nine vehicles, including a JCB machine and tractors, in two separate cases of alleged illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Anantnag and Shopian districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
Officials said the first action was taken by a police party from Police Post Dialgam, which seized one JCB machine and four tractors allegedly involved in unauthorised extraction and transportation of minerals from the Sandran Nallah near the railway bridge at Sadura. In a separate action in Shopian, police seized four tractors allegedly involved in the unauthorised extraction and transportation of minerals from the Rambiara Nallah area. A police team from Police Station Shopian intercepted the vehicles during routine patrolling, finding them operating without valid royalty documents.
