During a joint drive at Gawran Larnoo, conducted in coordination with the Revenue Department and Forest Department, police demolished two illegal shop structures allegedly belonging to two drug peddlers identified as Asif Ali Pala, son of Ali Mohammad Pala, and Nisar Ahmad Kasana, son of Bashir Ahmad Kasana, both residents of Mathindoo Larnoo.

Officials said the structures had been illegally raised on encroached forest land at Gawran, following which authorities initiated demolition action as part of the ongoing anti-narcotics crackdown.

Police said the move forms part of a broader strategy aimed at dismantling the narcotics network by targeting not only alleged drug peddlers but also illegal assets and infrastructure reportedly created through proceeds of crime.

Reiterating its commitment to making the district drug-free, Anantnag Police said strict legal action will continue against all individuals involved in drug trafficking or supporting narcotics-related activities.
