As Jammu and Kashmir has been placed under Governor’s rule following the political uncertainty and resignation of caretaker chief minister Omar Abudllah, Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) Sunday said they are is not in favour of Governor rule and asserted that it has not closed the chapter of government formation.

Speaking to KNS over phone from New Delhi  BJP’s Kashmir affairs in charge Avinash Rai Khanna said that though it is difficult to reach consensus over the formation of government in Jammu and Kashmir but the BJP has not closed the chapter of Government formation. “We are exploring all the options to ensure Jammu and Kashmir gets a stable government,” BJP’s State Secretary (Organization) and core group member Ashok Koul said.

“Though the situation is difficult due to the fractured mandate people have thrown up, party is exploring all the options to form the stable government. People of the state are in favour of the stable government and they have proved through record percentage of votes that they want an elected government,” he said.

Pertinently, the December 23 results of JK Assembly polls gave a hung house with PDP emerging single largest party with 28 seats, BJP with 25 while NC bagged 15 and Congress 12.

Though political parties had time until January 19 to explore the possibility of forming a government in the state, after Omar Abdullah requested to be relieved of the post of caretaker chief minister Governor rule was imposed in the state on Friday.

  1. Is any one anti Kashmiri and mad to alliance with BJP. BJP-RSS designs and all such anti Kashmir elements were rejected in Kashmir . BJP-RSS, VHP, Banjragdal Sewak Sang Sangparewar want to spoil peace in the region
