SRINAGAR: Senior Congress leader, Jairam Ramesh, on Friday raised questions regarding Amit Shah’s visit to Jammu and Kashmir. Referring to Shah as the “self-styled Chanakya,” Ramesh criticised the Home Minister’s handling of the region since the fall of the PDP-BJP government in 2018.
“The self-styled Chanakya is in Jammu and Kashmir today. Since the fall of the PDP-BJP government in 2018, Jammu and Kashmir has been administered primarily by the home ministry,” he said in a post on X.
The self-styled Chanakya is in J&K today. Since the fall of the PDP-BJP Government in 2018, Jammu and Kashmir has been administered primarily by the Home Ministry. Four questions that the swaghoshit Chanakya should answer about his governance:

He highlighted that Jammu and Kashmir has been largely administered by the Home Ministry since then, questioning Shah’s record on governance.
Ramesh posed four critical questions to Shah: Firstly, he inquired about the timeline for the restoration of full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. Secondly, he questioned why the security situation in the region has worsened under Shah’s supervision. Thirdly, Ramesh asked why the Union Government appears to be encroaching on the political executive’s powers in Jammu and Kashmir. Lastly, he demanded an explanation for the decline in the region’s economic situation since 2019.
