Speaking with local news agency KNO locals voiced frustration over the ongoing water shortage, which has lasted for several weeks.

Areas such as Barzullah, Baghat, Rawalpora, Sanatnagar, Dalgate, Khanyar, Lal Chowk, and nearby neighbourhoods are experiencing reduced water supply due to low reservoir levels caused by prolonged dry weather conditions.

Officials in the Jal Shakti PHE department said that water reservoirs, including Harwan and Dood Ganga, have been affected, limiting supply to many populated areas of Srinagar city.

Locals from Barzullah and Baghat reported facing an acute water shortage. “Without water, even the simplest household tasks have become a struggle,” said Yasin, a resident of Rawalpora.

On the weather outlook, independent forecaster Faizan Arif said that current forecasts indicate the dry spell will likely persist until November 10.

“A weak Western Disturbance may begin to affect Jammu and Kashmir from the evening of November 10, bringing light rainfall in the plains and possible light to moderate snowfall over higher elevations,” he said.

The forecast suggests that snowfall may occur over Sinthan Top, Affarwat Gulmarg, Zojila Pass, Sadhna Top, Razdan Top, parts of Gurez, and other high-altitude areas.
