SRINAGAR: A fresh moderate-intensity Western Disturbance is forecast to impact Jammu Kashmir on November 4 and 5, bringing rain and snowfall to several areas of the region, followed by a marked fall in temperatures.
According to independent weather forecaster Kashmir Weather, the approaching system will be accompanied by a cold front, making it one of the more notable weather events of the post-autumn season. The forecast indicates widespread rainfall across the plains and moderate snowfall over higher elevations during the two-day period.
“Once the system passes, temperatures are expected to plunge sharply below freezing, with Srinagar likely to record its first sub-zero temperature of the season,” the forecaster said.
Meteorologists believe the spell will signal the onset of a colder phase across the Valley, particularly in upper reaches where early frost and light snow are expected.
