While paying tributes to the militants killed in an encounter in Sopore, United Jehad Council(UJC) Chairman, Syed Salahuddin has said that the sacrifices of the slain militants were an indication that armed struggle will continue till complete vacation of the India forces from the state.

UJC spokesperson Syed Sadaqat Hussain quoting the UJC chief said to a local news agency, KNS  that the militant ranks were united and committed to taking the ongoing struggle to its logical end.

While addressing a joint session of the UJC, Salahuddin urged the leadership in Pakistan and both sides of the LoC to unite on the agenda of UN resolutions and fight till withdrawal of troops from the state by India.  “Issues like trade and tourism are acceptable but they should not overshadow or push the issues of right to self determination and complete withdrawal of troops to the back burner. That would not be acceptable to the freedom loving people of the state”, Hussain quoted Salahuddin as having said.

“Sacrifices of lakhs of lives were not offered for trade or tourism but for ending occupation of India. The sacrifices are going on and have been going on for last 65 years”, Salahuddin said.

He termed the killing of six LeT militants in Sopore as yet another episode of sacrifices for the cause. “Upholding the honour of sacrifices offered by martyrs is not only the duty but a debt on the people of Kashmir “, Salahuddin was quoted of having said. According to the spokesperson, it was pledged in the meeting that the ongoing struggle will be taken to its logical end and no one will be allowed to indulge into treason.
