SRINAGAR: Asia’s largest Tulip Garden, located at the foothills of the Zabarwan range in Srinagar, has set a new record by welcoming 8,55,125 visitors during the 2025 season.
The Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden received a total of 8,55,125 tourists between March 26 and April 24, 2025. The garden, which was open for 30 days, was officially closed to the public on April 24.
The footfall includes local, national, and international tourists who visited to see the bloom of over 1.7 million tulips of various varieties.
The highest single-day attendance was recorded on April 6, with 81,352 visitors, followed by April 13, which saw 70,430 visitors. Tourist numbers peaked during weekends and the full bloom period.
In the opening week alone, over 1.56 lakh visitors entered the garden. The growing popularity of the annual tulip festival attracted visitors from across the world.
Officials attributed the record turnout to improved infrastructure, focused promotional campaigns, and favourable weather conditions. Additions such as new flower beds, fountains, and walking paths also enhanced the appeal of the garden.
This season, the garden hosted 3,338 foreign tourists, marking an increase in international interest.
“This year has been exceptional. The full bloom, clear weather, and high tourist turnout created the right setting for a record-breaking season,” said an official from the Department of Floriculture. (KNO)
