In a post on X, the Chief Minister said it was contradictory to describe Jammu and Kashmir as an inalienable part of India while Kashmiris continued to face fear and insecurity outside the Union Territory.

He said the JK government would take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of residents travelling or living in other states, particularly in view of recent incidents reported from different parts of the country.

“My government will step in wherever required and do whatever is necessary to ensure such incidents are not repeated,” Abdullah said.

The Chief Minister also appealed to the Union Home Ministry to take proactive steps and sensitise state governments to prevent targeted attacks and harassment of people from Jammu and Kashmir.

His remarks follow recent incidents, including an alleged attack on an 18-year-old Kashmiri boy in the Vikas Nagar area of Uttarakhand, where the victim sustained serious injuries on Tuesday evening, raising renewed concerns over the safety of migrant traders and students from the Union Territory.
