Moon-sighting committees in several parts of the country confirmed the non-sighting of the crescent, resulting in the completion of 30 days of Dhul Qadah.

The Masjid-E-Nakhoda Markazi Rooyat-E-Hilal Committee in Kolkata announced that Eid al-Adha would be celebrated on May 28 following the non-sighting of the moon.

In Karnataka, the Markazi Ruyath-e-Hilal Committee also confirmed that the crescent was not sighted either within the state or elsewhere in India. The committee stated that the first day of Zil Hijjah 1447 AH would fall on Tuesday, May 19, and Eid al-Adha would accordingly be observed on May 28.

Meanwhile, moon-sighting observations continued in several countries, including the United Arab Emirates, where authorities used both traditional sightings and astronomical calculations to determine the beginning of Dhu al-Hijjah.

Official moon-sighting committees in countries such as Saudi Arabia and the UAE are responsible for announcing the start of Islamic months, including Ramadan, Shawwal and Dhu al-Hijjah, based on crescent sightings conducted on the 29th day of the preceding month.
