Pakistan on Wednesday said that two of its civilians were killed in cross border firing.

“At least two civilians were killed by Indian fire along the Working Boundary on Wednesday in Chaprar sector,” said a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

“Eight civilians were also injured in the latest episode of cross-border firing by the Indian forces,” the statement added.

“Pakistan Rangers gave a befitting response to Indian unprovoked fire,” read the ISPR statement as quoted by The Dawn.com. “A civilian, Sikander, who was injured by Indian fire on October 25, succumbed to his injuries in Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Kharian today.”

Meanwhile, the news report quoting Pakistan military sources said, “Pakistani troops ‘effectively’ hit a number of Indian posts along the Line of Control and Working Boundary.”
