Expressing sorrow over the injuries caused due to a mysterious bomb blast near a Masjid in Trenz hamlet of Shopian in South Kashmir early Thursday, Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) said such incidents are “extreme unfortunate” and “shameful”.
In a statement issued to press on Friday, a DFP spokesperson while terming the incident as “deep rooted conspiracy” and “handiwork of anti-movement elements”, said, “the perpetrators need to be taught a befitting lesson.”
Praying for speedy recovery of those injured due to blast, the spokesperson said, “even religious places are not sparred here which is extremely condemnable and matter of serious concern for us. Such situation is gruesome and the need of hour is to foil their wicked and dangerous designs at earliest.” “The similar bomb was planted near the residence of Waseem Malla of Pahlipora and such kind of acts point to the hand of Indian agencies.”
“Human rights bodies world over should take serious cognizance of these matters as no one is safe here as everyone lives under the shadow of fear,” the spokesperson demanded.
Condemning the frequent frisking by forces on eve of August 15, the spokesperson said, “whole valley has been turned into military garrison where every individual is harassed and humiliated on the pretext of security concerns.”
“15 August is a black day for Kashmiris which only adds to the woes of people here. Thousands of youth are put behind bars by the so-called world’s largest democracy to celebrate its independence day which is so shameful,” the spokesperson added.
Meanwhile, the DFP while criticizing the administration over keeping its chairperson Shabir Ahmad Shah under continuous house arrest termed it “unconstitutional and dictatorial”.
“By doing so, the administration is acknowledging its defeat and that Mufti Sayeed should confess that he can’t fight his political opponents on a political platform. Their claims of being the champions of democracy have proven hollow while as there is Marshal Law prevailing in Kashmir. Since his (Shah) release in 2011, he has been barred from offering 158 Friday and 8 Eid prayers and kept under house detention for a period of almost 2 years,” the spokesperson added.
