DGCA Suspends Four Officers, Summons IndiGo CEO Amid Flight Chaos

SRINAGAR: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has removed four flight inspection officers amid a crackdown following the massive flight disruptions at IndiGo, according to an NDTV report. Although the immediate trigger for the action remains unclear, serious questions are being raised over the regulator’s assessment of IndiGo’s pilot strength before permitting the carrier to operate 10 percent more flights in the winter schedule, and its evaluation of the airline’s readiness to implement the new pilot duty-and-rest norms.
