The closures, which began on May 9, were enforced following a military standoff between the two countries. Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) issued by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) suspended civil flight operations across key installations, including Srinagar, Amritsar, and other major airports in northern and western India.

Official sources said that a green signal had been given for the resumption of operations at Srinagar Airport, though a formal announcement is still awaited. “Green signal has been given. Hopefully, Srinagar Airport will resume operations tomorrow; however, we must wait for official signal,” said a senior official.

With a ceasefire now in place, aviation authorities have begun preparations to resume flight operations across the affected airports. The move is seen as an indication of de-escalation and a return to normalcy in the region.

Officials from the AAI confirmed that a formal announcement regarding the reopening of all 32 airports is expected shortly. (With Inputs from JKNS)
