Minister for Revenue, Javaid Mustafa Mir while replying to a Calling Attention Notice by Mubarak Gul in Legislative Assembly Wednesday said that ex-gratia relief @ Rs 1.50 lakh each under SDRF and Rs 1.5 lakh each under Chief Minister’s Relief Fund has been sanctioned and disbursed among the NOKs of deceased persons who died during floods, an official statement said.

“The Minister further said that ex-gratia relief out of the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund has also been sanctioned and disbursed among the NOKs of 63 deceased persons in Kashmir. He said ex-gratia relief @ Rs 1 lakh for fully damaged pucca and Rs 0.50 lakh for fully damaged kacha house has been/ is also being directly deposited in the individual bank accounts of each affected by the Prime Minister’s office. He said ex-gratia relief @ Rs 50000 for severally damaged Pucca house and Rs 10000 for severally damaged kacha house has also been disbursed out of PMNRF,” the statement said.

He further informed that ex-gratia relief @ Rs 25000 for partially damaged puccahouses and Rs 5000 for partially damaged kacha house has been provided out of PMNRF.

“He said rent @ Rs 5000 in Municipal areas; Rs 3500 in urban areas and Rs 2000 in rural areas per family/per month for four months is paid to all such families whose residential houses were fully damaged during floods. He said those families who opted for shelter sheds instead of house rent have been provided shelter sheds at different places,” the statement said.

“Timber to the extent of 100, 50 & 30 cfts to fully/severally/partially damaged houses respectively is being provided to the sufferers on concessional rates and without charging VAT. He said six months free ration has also been provided to flood sufferers.

The State Government has accordingly formulated a package for providing adequate relief for rehabilitation of the affected people and the same has been submitted to Government of India for funding. He said as and when the funds are released the rehabilitation of affected families will be carried forward further,” the statement quoted the minister as having said.
