SRINAGAR: A fresh Western Disturbance is expected to influence weather conditions across most parts of Jammu and Kashmir from July 11 to 12, with rainfall activity likely over several areas, according to weather forecasters.
The forecast indicates that although the moisture-laden winds from the southeast, which contributed to the recent heavy rainfall episodes, are expected to remain absent, moisture associated with the Western Disturbance from the Arabian Sea will continue to influence the region, albeit with comparatively weaker intensity.
As a result, intermittent rain showers and spells are likely across many parts of Jammu and Kashmir during the two-day period. Forecasters have not ruled out the possibility of isolated high-intensity showers.
While the likelihood of cloudbursts is expected to remain lower than during the previous weather spell, weather experts have advised people to remain cautious, noting that the atmosphere still holds considerable moisture capable of triggering localised heavy rainfall.
The forecast further suggests that no major weather activity is expected between July 13 and 15. However, brief rain showers may occur at isolated places during the period.
Authorities have advised residents, pilgrims and travellers to keep a close watch on weather updates, particularly in hilly and vulnerable areas prone to landslides and flash floods.
