SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday stated that LPG and other essential fuel supplies in the Union Territory are currently sufficient. However, he warned that a prolonged international conflict could impact their availability.
Addressing reporters, Abdullah noted that Jammu and Kashmir, like the rest of India, cannot directly influence global developments. He said the current stock of essential supplies, including fuel, is adequate for at least 10–15 days.
He added that if the conflict continues for an extended period and shortages arise nationwide, the Union Territory could also face disruptions, but emphasized there is no immediate cause for concern.
Referring to a recent meeting convened by the Prime Minister, Abdullah said the Centre has assured an uninterrupted supply of essentials through multiple channels and pledged to keep the public informed of any changes in the situation.
