According to a notification issued on November 11, the fee for light motor vehicles (LMVs) over 20 years has been raised from Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000. Heavy trucks and buses in the same age category will now pay Rs 25,000 for fitness testing, up from Rs 3,500, while medium commercial vehicles will be charged Rs 20,000. Two-wheelers older than 20 years will incur a fee of Rs 2,000, compared with Rs 600 previously.

The notification also revised the fee structure for commercial vehicles, lowering the age threshold for higher charges from 15 to 10 years. Three age categories have been created for fitness testing: 10–15 years, 15–20 years, and above 20 years, bringing a larger number of vehicles under the updated cost brackets.
