SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Tuesday revealed that a total of Rs 14.85 crore has been spent on chartered flights over the past four years.
The Government disclosed this in response to the cut motion of MLA Shopian, Shabir Ahmad Kullay. It stated that an expenditure of Rs 14,85,94,471 has been incurred on chartered flights after adhering to codal formalities.
“Moreover, there were no chartered flights before 2021,” the Government further revealed.
Additionally, it stated that an expenditure of Rs 1,23,12,245 has been incurred on VIP visits to Jammu & Kashmir during the financial year 2024-25.
“The total expenditure of Rs 1.23 crore during 2024-25 was incurred within the sanctioned budgetary allocation. Each expense is accounted for, and periodic audits ensure transparency and fiscal discipline,” the Government said.
The Government clarified that the expenditure on VIP visits to the Union Territory is aligned with established protocols and the necessity to ensure the smooth conduct of these visits. (KNO)
