If you want to gift anything to a government run school in Kashmir you are just a click away.

Directorate of School education Kashmir in collaboration with a Srinagar based e-commerce Company Kashmir Box last Friday launched an initiative at Srinagar’s Amar Singh College.

The initiative – Support Education In Kashmir (SEIK) – gives you the opportunity to gift different items to government schools where government has failed to make the items available.

Minister of Education Naeem Akhtar and Director School Education Dr Shah Faesal were present at the event.

The initiative aims to make basic amenities available to the students at government schools. The company acts as an intermediary between the school and the donor. The donor has to visit its website, choose a kit of different items and pay for the kit after selecting the school he wants to donate.

The donors can donate kits that that are available with the company. The donation procedure is simple. After choosing the kit and the school of delivery, the donors have to only pay; the shipping will be managed by the company.

“The kits are available at minimum retail prize, no surcharge is added on kits,” said Muheet Mehraj, CEO of Kashmir Box.

For now, the donors can donate only to the schools of Kashmir valley; however, education minister asked Muheet to include schools of Jammu in the initiative.

There are different kinds of kits available for the donors including Drum Set, Multi game sports Kit, multipurpose sports kit, computer set.

At the launch event, apart from education minister, the teaching staff of Amar Singh College was the first to donate through this initiative.
