The government emphasised that dialogue and diplomacy remain central to resolving disputes and protecting civilian lives, with India consistently advocating for ceasefires and peaceful resolutions at both bilateral and multilateral platforms, including the United Nations, BRICS, the Non-Aligned Movement, and the Voice of the Global South.

The Ministry highlighted India’s human-centric approach as a ‘first responder’ during international crises. Since March 2022, the government has dispatched seventeen consignments of humanitarian assistance to Ukraine, including medicines, medical equipment, tents, blankets, tarpaulins, solar lamps, sleeping mats, and diesel generator sets. Financial aid was also provided for the refurbishment of Kyiv’s Gymnasium of Oriental Language No. 1 and the training of teachers in three schools to support the psychological health of children and youth.

In Palestine, India sent around 70 tonnes of medical and humanitarian aid between October and November 2023, including essential medicines, surgical items, hygiene kits, water purification tablets, sleeping bags, and tents. In October 2024, India supplied an additional 36 tonnes of life-saving and anti-cancer drugs to the West Bank and coordinated with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency to deliver approximately 30 tonnes of aid to Gaza.

The government has also prioritised the safety of Indian nationals abroad. During these crises, Operations Ganga in Ukraine and Ajay in Israel facilitated the evacuation of approximately 20,000 Indian citizens, with Indian embassies coordinating travel and providing round-the-clock assistance through advisories, helplines, and social media engagement.

India reaffirmed that it will continue to pursue global peace through diplomatic engagement, multilateral dialogue, and humanitarian assistance, while safeguarding its economic and strategic interests. The Ministry noted that energy security and supply chain resilience remain key priorities, with an Inter-Ministerial Group established to monitor the impact of geopolitical tensions on trade, logistics, and critical sectors.

The government stressed that these sustained efforts aim not only at immediate relief and evacuation but also at building long-term goodwill and trust with partner countries while contributing to global stability.
