“Relations between India and Russia have been among the steadiest of the major relationships in the world after the Second World War,” Jaishankar said at a joint press briefing with Lavrov, adding that geopolitical convergence, leadership-level contacts and strong public sentiment continue to drive the partnership.
Jaishankar arrived in Moscow on Tuesday to fine-tune elements of President Putin’s proposed visit to India later this year, expected in November or December.
