SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has relieved two Indian Forest Service (IFS) officers from the Union Territory with immediate effect to enable them to take up new assignments outside JK, according to separate government orders.
The orders, No. 144-JK(FST) of 2026 and No. 145-JK(FST) of 2026, both dated July 16, 2026, were issued by the Department of Forest, Ecology and Environment under the authority of the Lieutenant Governor.
According to Government Order No. 144-JK(FST) of 2026, Sandeep Kujur, IFS (AGMUT:1995), Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) and Director, Social Forestry, JK, who was also holding the additional charge of Director, Soil and Water Conservation, has been relieved from the JK segment of the AGMUT cadre.
The order has been issued in pursuance of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF and CC), Government of India, communication dated May 11, 2026, enabling him to join as Deputy Director General of Forests (DDGF), Regional Office Dehradun, on deputation.
In a separate order, Government Order No. 145-JK(FST) of 2026, Satyendra Maurya, IFS (AGMUT:2020), Deputy Conservator of Forests and Divisional Forest Officer, Udhampur Forest Division, has been relieved from the JK segment of the AGMUT cadre.
The order was issued in pursuance of the MoEF and CC Office Order dated June 9, 2026, enabling him to take up his new assignment in the union Territory of Chandigarh
