SRINAGAR: Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi on Thursday reaffirmed her emotional bond with Kashmir, describing the Valley as her maternal home and promising to shoot a full-fledged film here in the future. Visiting Srinagar to promote her latest release Baby Do Die Do, Qureshi thanked Kashmiri audiences for their overwhelming support and said the love she receives in the Valley always feels deeply personal, reflecting Bollywood’s growing engagement with Kashmir as both a filming destination and a vibrant cinema market.

Accompanied by her brother and co-producer Saqib Saleem, director Nachiket Samant and other members of the cast, Qureshi interacted with fans at the INOX multiplex in Srinagar, where enthusiastic moviegoers turned up in large numbers to meet the actors and watch the film.
“We came to Kashmir to thank the people personally because our film is receiving so much love here,” Qureshi told reporters, adding that every visit to the Valley reminds her of her maternal roots.
“My mother is from Kashmir. This is my nanihaal (maternal home), and every time we come here, we are showered with immense affection,” she said.
The actor also made a commitment that delighted fans. “Today our film is playing in Kashmir, and I promise that I will also shoot a film here,” she said, recalling her experience of filming portions of Maharani Season 4 at Char Chinar in the middle of Dal Lake last year.
Saqib Saleem echoed the promise, saying the siblings intend to return with a film project that would be shot and released in Kashmir.
The visit comes at a time when Kashmir is witnessing a revival of its cinema culture, with multiplexes drawing increasing audiences and Bollywood producers once again exploring the Valley as a preferred filming destination. Improved infrastructure, incentives under the JK Film Policy and the reopening of cinema halls have contributed to the renewed momentum in film tourism.
Directed by Nachiket Samant, Baby Do Die Do is a crime thriller featuring Huma Qureshi in the lead role alongside Sikander Kher, Chunky Panday and Seema Pahwa. The film, released on July 3, is currently screening in cinemas across the country, including Jammu and Kashmir.
