SRINAGAR: The University of Kashmir has invited online applications for admission to a wide array of postgraduate and professional programmes through its Kashmir University Entrance Test (KUET) 2025. The notification, issued by the Directorate of Admissions and Competitive Examinations (DACE), calls upon aspirants to submit their forms between June 5 and July 4 for the upcoming academic session.
The university is offering admissions to Master’s and Bachelor’s (Professional) programmes such as MTTM, MEd, MPEd, Mass Communication and Journalism, MCA, MBA (Non-CMAT), MBA-CME (Non-CMAT), MTech (for non-GATE candidates), and the three-year LL.B programme. Alongside these, a wide spectrum of non-professional postgraduate courses is also on offer, including subjects in languages, social sciences, humanities, biological and physical sciences, information technology, and applied sciences.
Eligibility is based on the candidate’s undergraduate coursework under various schemes, including NEP-2020 and the Choice-Based Credit System, requiring at least 12 core or generic elective credits in the relevant subject. However, for programmes with open eligibility such as LLB, MA Mass Communication and Journalism, MA Islamic Studies, Library Science, Social Work, and others, graduates from any discipline may apply. Provisional applications are also allowed for candidates awaiting final results, provided eligibility is fulfilled by or before July 29.
The application process is entirely online, with no requirement to submit hard copies of the form or fee receipt. Applicants are required to retain a printout for reference. The fee is Rs 900 for a single programme (including Rs 150 IT fee and Rs 500 test fee) and Rs 250 for each additional programme. Payment is to be made through online mode only.
DACE Director Dr Fayaz Ahmad has clarified that the onus of ensuring eligibility lies entirely with the applicant at the time of submission. Educational and category certificates will be verified only at the time of final admission by the respective departments. Any discrepancy or misrepresentation can lead to cancellation of admission at any stage.
The university will upload the detailed entrance test schedule in due course. Notification for self-financed seats will be issued on August 2, but only those who have appeared in the KUET for the relevant subject will be eligible under this category.
Candidates are advised to verify their application status three days after submission to ensure the “Fee Received” status is reflected. Any unresolved payment issues must be reported to the IT Cell near the DSW Office by July 6. The university has warned that no claims will be entertained thereafter.
The detailed eligibility criteria, subject syllabi, previous entrance papers, and contact information of admission coordinators are available in the University Prospectus 2025 on its official website under the “Admissions” tab.
