SRINAGAR: Farhana Bhatt, the 28-year-old Kashmiri actress and five-time national Taekwondo champion, reached the grand finale of Bigg Boss 19 as one of the top two finalists alongside Gaurav Khanna, following a journey marked by early eviction, a secret room, and several confrontations. Bigg Boss is a famous Indian Hindi language reality television show that is hosted by Salamna Khan for the 16th time.

She finished as runner-up after Pranit More’s third-place eviction in the finale on Sunday, captivating audiences with her outspoken style despite initial backlash for “negative energy.”
Born on March 15, 1997, in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, Farhana grew up raised by her mother and grandfather after her father left in infancy, alongside sisters Soliha and Fiza Bhat, in a strict cultural environment that initially restricted her acting ambitions. She graduated in Mass Communication from Government College for Women, Srinagar, followed by acting training at Anupam Kher’s Actor Prepares in Mumbai, where she honed skills in dance, martial arts, and theatre.
Farhana debuted in Bollywood with Sunshine Music Tours and Travels (2016) opposite Sunny Kaushal, gaining notice before her breakthrough as Jasmeet in Imtiaz Ali’s Laila Majnu (2018) and a role in Notebook (2019), earning critical praise for natural performances. She expanded to OTT with The Freelancer, India’s Brave Chapter 2, and Country of Blind, alongside music videos for T-Series and Zee Music, plus brand endorsements.
Entering Bigg Boss 19 on August 24, 2025, as an “actress and peace activist from Kashmir,” Farhana faced immediate eviction on day one. Bigg Boss twisted this by sending her to a secret room for observation. She re-entered dramatically with Gaurav Khanna’s aid, sparking conflicts including an “ugly fight” with Amaal Mallik, shifting house dynamics and earning her the “season’s villain” tag, yet fan support for sharp one-liners.
In the Grand finale hosted by Salman Khan, Amaal Mallik exited first, followed by Tanya Mittal and Pranit More, leaving Farhana and Gaurav as the top two.
The Bigg Boss 19 finale opened with high drama and anticipation as Salman Khan announced that the winner would walk away with the coveted trophy and a cash prize of Rs 50 lakh. The five finalists – Gaurav Khanna, Farhana Bhatt, Pranit More, Tanya Mittal and Amaal Mallik – gathered on stage, marking the end of their 100-day journey inside the house.
The eliminations began with an unexpected twist. Amaal Mallik became the first to leave the finale after a family-based puzzle challenge in which his relative could not complete the task because of a missing puzzle piece. This surprise exit was followed by Tanya Mittal’s elimination during a segment featuring Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday, who had arrived to promote their film. Pranit More’s eviction later in the night sealed the top two: Gaurav Khanna and Farhana Bhatt.
The finale remained packed with emotional moments, shocks and bursts of entertainment, including a lighthearted segment by Sunny Leone and Karan Kundrra. After hours of tension, Gaurav Khanna was finally declared the winner of Bigg Boss 19, bringing to a close one of the season’s most followed journeys.
Though Farhana Bhatt finished Bigg Boss 19 as the runner-up, she reportedly earned between Rs 2 lakh and Rs 3 lakh a week. Her journey was among the most dramatic of the season, marked by early rejection, internal rivalries, and a fierce refusal to be sidelined. Despite being disliked by most housemates, she remained unbothered and persistent, turning what began as an early exit into a commanding presence in the finale week.
Her story took a sharp turn in the opening days when the house unanimously nominated her as the least deserving contestant. Sent to a secret room, Farhana flipped the script by controlling house dynamics through direct instructions to Bigg Boss. From there, clashes defined her trajectory, most notably with Baseer Ali, whom she removed from a captaincy task, sparking a prolonged rivalry. She was frequently criticised for her aggressive language, even drawing a stern warning from host Salman Khan.
Yet Farhana also carved moments of levity and connection. A prank involving Shehbaz Badesha and Zeeshan Quadri pushed her into the pool and inspired her to stage a humorous “ghost prank”, briefly easing tensions. She formed friendships with Nehal Chudasama and Baseer Ali before disagreements fractured the trio. Heated confrontations continued, including a sharp argument with Mridul over kitchen duties that deeply unsettled house dynamics.
One of the season’s most emotional moments came when her mother entered the house during family week, offering reassurance and reminding her of her resilience. As the finale approached, Farhana locked horns with Gaurav Khanna in yet another intense showdown, requiring Amaal Mallik and Pranit More to step in. Her bold, outspoken presence ensured she remained one of the most talked-about contestants of the season, ultimately finishing just short of the trophy but securing a memorable, high-impact run.
