SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today visited the Nunwan and Chandanwari base camps along the Pahalgam axis to review arrangements and ongoing services for the Shri Amarnathji Yatra, which has so far witnessed the participation of over 3.35 lakh pilgrims.
The Lieutenant Governor interacted with yatris, langer sevadars, service providers, sanitation and healthcare staff, as well as Police, security and administrative officials. He reviewed department-wise coordination of logistics, lodging, healthcare, sanitation, disaster response, and overall route management along the Pahalgam stretch.
Lauding the dedication of Camp Directors, Shrine Board officials, civil and police administration, service volunteers and security forces, the Lieutenant Governor credited their combined efforts for creating what he called a “pleasant and memorable pilgrimage” for the devotees of Baba Barfani. He noted that 97 percent of pilgrims have shared positive feedback about their experience, and said this smooth conduct of the yatra would significantly boost tourism in Jammu and Kashmir.
“We are witnessing an overwhelming atmosphere of spiritual fervour and festivity throughout the base camps. The success of this yatra is a collective achievement,” LG Sinha said.
He instructed health officials to conduct a thorough analysis of medical cases reported during the pilgrimage to understand emerging health patterns and develop preventive measures. He also asked officials to integrate traffic-related feedback into the existing Yatra feedback system to improve traffic management and ensure smoother movement of pilgrims along the route.
