Major Structural Reforms in Private Schools Underway: High-Level Meeting Held

   

SRINAGAR: In a significant move to ensure quality education for students, stakeholders from private schools, in collaboration with the administration, have embarked on a major structural reform programme. A high-level meeting was convened, which was attended by Principal Secretary Education Alok Kumar, Chairman JKBOSE Dr Parikshit Singh Manhas, Director Education Kashmir Tassaduq Hussain, Director Education Jammu Ashok Kumar, Secretary JKBOSE Manisha Sarin, and other officials.

The meeting featured a detailed and thoughtful discussion on various issues faced by private schools. Principal Secretary Alok Kumar listened attentively to the concerns presented, understood the issues firsthand, and sought immediate input from subordinate officers. He issued several directives on critical matters, including pollution certificates, chemical certificates, and traffic NOCs.

The gathering provided an excellent platform to address and deliberate on the challenges encountered by private schools. Specific instructions were issued to prepare the minutes of the meeting. Positive developments for all private schools are anticipated.

The meeting lasted several hours as Principal Secretary Kumar insisted on hearing from every private school owner. He assured that reforms to ease the business operations of private schools would be strictly implemented. Kumar called on private schools to provide quality education, promising that the government would resolve their genuine issues promptly.

Both parties agreed to work in a cooperative spirit to ensure private schools receive all possible administrative support. In turn, private schools committed to working overtime to improve the quality of education.

Addressing the misuse of social media, which has seen several individuals and groups attempting to intimidate government and private schools, both parties stated that such malicious campaigns would be dealt with accordingly. Schools will continue to function under established rules and regulations to benefit students.

A spokesperson for private schools emphasised that there would be more such meetings until all structural reforms are implemented.

“We are very thankful to the Hon’ble LG Administration and Principal Secretary of Education for conducting such an important meeting in a cordial atmosphere. We assure the government of our full support in implementing education policies in letter and spirit,” the spokesperson said.

This initiative marks a significant step towards enhancing the educational landscape and ensuring that students receive the highest quality education.
