Modi condemned the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, where 26 civilians were killed. He said the attack reflected the ongoing global threat of terrorism and stressed the need for consistent international action against countries that support or shelter militant groups. He said that selective responses undermine the fight against terrorism and urged that all nations be held to the same standard.

Referring to energy challenges, Modi outlined India’s approach based on availability, accessibility, affordability, and acceptability. He said India had met its Paris Agreement goals ahead of time and reiterated the target of 500 GW renewable energy capacity by 2030. He also mentioned international efforts led by India, including the International Solar Alliance, Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure, and Global Biofuels Alliance.

Modi raised concerns on the impact of conflict and economic instability on developing nations, calling for their concerns to be addressed through inclusive global governance. On technology, he highlighted the resource demands of artificial intelligence and invited world leaders to the AI Impact Summit in India next year.

The session was attended by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and other G7 leaders.
